Mark Jenks

Jenks Honored

The Holt Business Alliance has named Delhi Township Parks and Recreation Director Mark Jenks as Township Employee of the Year for 2020. Jenks has served Delhi Township for more than 30 years and has been instrumental in growing and maintaining Delhi Township’s parks system.

Jenks was acknowledged for his pivotal role in making Delhi Township’s parks a must-visit destination in mid-Michigan. Our parks have given residents a clean and safe place to reconnect with nature in a year when one of the safest things to do was spend time outdoors.

Congratulations to Mark on this well-deserved award!

Get a bird's-eye view of Delhi parks

Delhi Township recently unveiled videos highlighting two of its pristine parks. The video is part of an ongoing series highlighting the township’s unique recreational opportunities for local families and visitors alike.

Our first
video shows off John Taylor Memorial Park, a 13-acre park that hosts one of the top sledding hills in Greater Lansing. The park is located south of Holt Road and is the center of winter recreation in Delhi Township. The park also features a playground and pavilion for special events.

Our second
video showcases Esker Landing Park, the latest addition to the township’s expansive family of parks. The 15-acre park is located just east of the roundabout at Cedar and Holbrook streets, and provides access to Cedar Lake. The park features a kayak and canoe launch and a fishing dock.

“Our latest videos provide residents and viewers with a bird’s-eye view of John Taylor Memorial Park and Esker Landing Park,” said Mark Jenks, Delhi Township Parks & Recreation Department Director. “These parks are the latest examples of our continued commitment to providing high-quality natural amenities and parks for our residents and visitors to enjoy.”

Sidewalk Program

Where the Sidewalk Ends

Delhi Township is still accepting applications from residents who want to split the bill with the Township to cover the cost of sidewalk repair.

Traditionally, sidewalk maintenance is the adjacent property owner’s responsibility, including repairs and replacement, as necessary. This year’s program will be opt-in and voluntary, and the Township will cover half the cost while the homeowner covers the other half.

You can also print a copy of the form and return it by May 1. The printed form can be submitted by email, mailed to the Township or dropped off at our secure drop box outside Township Hall, 2074 Aurelius Road. If you need a copy of the form sent to you, please let us know.
Residents who want to take part in this opt-in program can fill out the sidewalk nomination form electronically by visiting delhitownship.com/382/2021-Sidewalk-Maintenance-Program.
