[ARCHIVED] Realize Cedar Update

blue and grey logo for Realize Cedar project

November 26, 2018

Almost Finished

Construction crews finished topping Cedar Street during the week of November 21st. They are now going to be working on pavement markings, street light placement, installing traffic signals and landscaping elements. It has been decided that Cedar Street will remain one way until the street lights are completed.

The project is scheduled to be completed on December 12, weather permitting. Between the end of the Cedar Street topping and December 14, there may be intermittent lane closures as construction crews work on replacing street lights, traffic signals, adding benches, etc.

Update November 27, 2018 - This week, contractors are finishing street light installation. Once the street lights are installed, Cedar Street will be open to two-way traffic. This should occur by the end of this week. There may still be intermittent lane closures for smaller parts of the project, but this should be the last major detour.

The right-hand turn lane at Cedar Street and Dallas will be removed. Instead, the lane will direct northbound Cedar Street traffic in the right lane to merge with traffic in the left. This change will be made in the coming weeks.

Crews are also working on installing park benches, trash receptacles, bike racks, and other amenities.
