Planning a vacation outside the country? A U.S. passport is required when traveling by plane to another country. The Delhi Township Clerk's Office is an official passport acceptance agency and can also produce passport photos to the correct specifications of the application.
Depending upon what is needed, the process can take up to 20 minutes. Make sure you give yourself enough time for the application process and be sure to bring in all of the required information and documentation as it will save time and help your chances of getting approved.

Clerk - Passports
To apply, you must complete an application form. View the online application form or use a blank form at the Clerk's Office. If you are filling it out in person, you must use black ink. After filling out the application form, you must present certain items of identification and the required methods of payment to apply before signing it.
These items include:
- A 2 inch by 2 inch passport photo with a white or light background (As a convenience, the clerk's office can provide you with a proper passport photo for a small fee)
- The completed passport application
- Proof of Citizenship (birth certificate or original naturalization certificate) Please Note: The original document or certified copy will be submitted, not a standard copy. It will be returned.
- Valid picture identification (Driver's License or State ID card)
- Payment (check or money order ONLY) payable to the U.S. Dept. of State for the passport book/card fee. One separate check for each application.
- Payment (check, cash, card) to Delhi Township for the processing fee and photo (if applicable).
In addition, an application will not be accepted without the proper payment requirements.

In addition to having a completed application, proof of citizenship (certified copy of birth certificate), and a 2 inch by 2 inch photo, both parents must be present for minors.
For passports, a minor is anyone under the age of 16 at the time of application. Both parents must also have their driver's licenses with them at the time of application. If both parents are not able to be present, an affidavit must be filled out from the absent parent and signed in front of a notary. The affidavit form is available in clerk's office. A copy of the front and back of the absent parent's driver's license is also required.

There are two separate payments required for an application to be accepted:
- For the passport book/card: Check or money order ONLY payable to the U.S. Dept. of State. Each application requires a separate check.
- For the processing fee and/or photo: Check, cash or credit/debit card (no additional fees for cards) to Delhi Township. One payment for all total fees.

The processing time for U.S. passport applications varies throughout the year. Applications can be expedited for an additional $60 per application to reduce processing time. For current processing times of routine and expedited applications, visit the U.S. Department of State Passports Page.
Processing times can vary depending on the time of year (like summer travel season) and occasional unforeseen circumstances, such as natural disasters. These times apply to passport renewals as well as new applications. Whenever possible, please give yourself enough time for your application to be processed.
Already applied for a passport?
You can check the status of your application online with the U.S. Department of State. It takes 7-10 business days for applications to be trackable online.
You can also call the National Passport Information Center to check your application status at 1-877-487-2778. Center hours are as follows (excluding Federal Holidays):
Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time
