The Delhi Township Assessing Department will be heading out into neighborhoods beginning in May until this fall. this is an annual re-inspection program, recommended by the Michigan State Tax Commission. Approximately 20% of each class of properties is inspected each year to ensure accurate and equitable assessments. Orange postcards will be mailed to affected neighborhoods shortly before staff visits.
So what does this mean for you?
Township Assessing Department staff will be going door to door in various residential neighborhoods. Employees will be wearing a visible Delhi Township issued ID badge for identification purposes. An interior inspection and/or verification of information will take place. This takes approximately 10 minutes.
What if you're not at home when we come by?
For property owners not at home, an orange door tag with a contact telephone number will be left. Those receiving a door tag are encouraged to call and schedule an inspection. If staff is unable to verify records in person, an estimated assessment will be determined.
Who's first?
The first neighborhoods Appraisers will be working in are:
- Huntley Square Subdivision
- Sterling Farms Subdivision
- Holley Acres Subdivision
