Delhi Township Fire Station named Greater Lansing’s
favorite in ‘Feed the Fire Station’ contest honoring first responders
97.5 Now, The Wharton Center and Eastside Fish Fry partnerto celebrate Delhi Township firefighters, provide free lunch
Delhi Township firefighters were named Greater Lansing’s favorite fire station in 97.5 Now’s Feed the Fire Station contest. The radio station partnered with The Wharton Center and Eastside Fish Fry on a contest to honor first responders from one local fire house and thank them for their service with a free lunch.
“I want to thank everyone who voted for us as their favorite local fire station. It’s a tremendous honor to be held in such high regards by your community and to win 97.5 Now’s ‘Feed the Fire Station’ contest,” said Delhi Township Fire Chief Brian Ball. “I applaud 97.5 Now, the Wharton
Center and Eastside Fish Fry for teaming up to celebrate first responders justdays after the anniversary of 9/11.”
On-air personalities from 97.5 Now, a cast member from
Broadway’s “Come From Away,” which played at the Wharton Center in East Lansinguntil Sept. 15, and Eastside Fish Fry delivered lunch for 20 to the Delhi
Township Fire Station on Thursday afternoon.

First responders put their lives on the line every day to protect and ensure the safety of others, and that often goes unnoticed,” said McConnell Adams, Brand Manager for WJIM-FM/WFMK. “Wetruly appreciate our hard-working first responders and are honored we could
recognize them with lunch.”
The contest, which ran from Aug. 28 – Sept. 4, was developedto celebrate the brave first responders in Greater Lansing who risk their lives
daily to protect and serve their community.
Nominations were accepted on 975now.com. The person whosubmitted the winning nomination received a $25 gift certificate to Eastside
Fish Fry and a pair of tickets to see “Come From Away” at the Wharton Center.
