Community Parks and Recreation Master Plan
What is a Community Parks and Recreation Master Plan?
Delhi Charter Township residents continue to emphasize that parks, natural spaces and safe recreational opportunities are an important part of our community. Parks are vital to our health and wellbeing and are important spaces for our community to come together and experience pride in our hometown.
Every five years, the Delhi Charter Township Parks Commission and the Delhi Charter Township Board of Trustees updates the Community Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The plan provides a road map for the long-term development and sustainability of our park system. The Community Parks & Recreation Master Plan looks at ways we can:
- Create equitable access to parks throughout the Township.
- Provide quality facilities that meet the growing needs of Township residents through updates, renovations and top-level maintenance.
- Develop creative and inclusive programming for our community.
- Expand community impact through partnerships and creative funding strategies.
The plan serves as a roadmap for decision-making about our current assets and projected demands. As the heartbeat of our community, our beloved parks and recreation facilities are essential for fostering health, happiness, and a vibrant sense of community. We believe that parks and recreation play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents of all ages.
